§ 40-1-6 RELATIONSHIP TO EXISTING ORDINANCES AND PERMITS.
   (A)   Existing restrictions. Where this code imposes a greater restriction upon land, buildings or structures than is imposed or required by existing provisions of law, ordinance, contract or deed, the provisions of this code shall govern.
   (B)   Existing permits. This code is not intended to abrogate or annul any building permits, certificates of occupancy, variances or other lawful permits issued before the effective date of this code, except as otherwise specifically provided herein.
   (C)   Completion permitted. Any building or structure for which a building permit has been issued prior to the date of enactment of this code may be completed and used in accordance with the plans, specifications, and permits on which said building permit was granted, provided construction commences within 180 days of passage of this code and is diligently prosecuted to completion.
