§ 27-1-1 CRIMINAL CODE ADOPTED.  
   The Illinois Criminal Code, ILCS Ch. 720, as passed, approved and amended by the Illinois General Assembly, is hereby adopted by the city; the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the city; provided, however, the penalties as provided by this code shall apply.
