§ 5-3-5 EMPLOYEE CONTRIBUTION.
   Each police officer shall contribute to the police pension fund 9% of his or her salary, which shall be deducted monthly. However, the Chief of Police may elect to participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund rather than in the fund created under this article. Such election shall be irrevocable and shall be filed in writing with the Board.
