§ 5-2-12 APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF.
   The Chief of Police shall be appointed by the Mayor of the city with the consent of the City Council, and may be removed or discharged by the Mayor of the city upon confirmation by the City Council as set forth in ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 10-2.1-4. All other full-time police officers shall be appointed, promoted, removed or discharged in the manner provided in ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, §§ 10-2.1-1 et seq.
