6.04.180: POSSESSION; TRAINING REQUIRED FOR EQUIPMENT:
The animal control officer may have in his possession for the uses and purposes in carrying out the ordinances and laws of the city, the items set out in subsections A through D of this section. It is required that all employees of this department be fully trained and periodically tested in the use of all authorized equipment consistent with current administrative policy.
A.   One 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition of a type approved by the police chief and the police department range master.
B.   Tranquilizer guns with assorted darts and propellants.
C.   Tools essential to the humane treatment and control of offending animals, such as traps, airtight containers, come-alongs, leashes, muzzles, shackles, prods and other devices in this category of tools normally used to control animals.
D.   One .22 caliber long rifle to be used as a varmint weapon. (Ord. 999 §1, 2004: Ord. 699 §§1, 2, 1990)
