(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to violate any provision of this chapter.
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to activate a burglary or robbery alarm for the purpose of summoning law enforcement officers when no burglary, robbery or other crime dangerous to life or property, is being committed or attempted in or on the premises, or otherwise to cause a false alarm.
(C) It shall be unlawful for an alarm user to fail to pay, in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, for response(s) by the Sheriff to any false alarm.

The county, its officers, employees and agents may enforce the provisions of this chapter by one or a combination of any of the following methods:
(A) Prosecution for a misdemeanor where so provided within this chapter;
(B) Initiation of a civil action in the nature of a debt to collect the civil penalties and fees provided for within this chapter; and/or
(C) Initiation of an action in a court of competent jurisdiction for an injunction, abatement order or any other appropriate equitable remedy.

If any provision of this subchapter or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is for any reason held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the subchapter which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this subchapter are declared to be severable.

(A) Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.
(B) (1) Excessive false alarms. It is hereby found and determined that three or more false alarms within a 12-month period is excessive and constitutes a public nuisance.
(2) Civil penalties.
(a) The third through the fifth false alarm within a 12-month period will be assessed a $50 penalty per occurrence which shall be considered a debt owed by the alarm user to the county and may be collected from the alarm user as a civil penalty. Each $50 penalty incurred for the third through the fifth false alarms at the premises described in the alarm user’s permit shall be paid within 30 days from the date of the penalty notification.
(b) The sixth through eighth false alarms within a 12-month period shall be billed at $100 per occurrence and collectable as in division (B)(1) above.
(c) The ninth and tenth false alarms within a 12-month period shall be billed at $150 per occurrence and shall be collectable as in division (B)(1) above.
(d) All false alarms in excess of ten within a 12-month period shall be billed at $250 per occurrence and shall be collectable as in division (B)(1) above.
