9-1-5: PENALTY; JUDICIAL RELIEF:
   A.   Penalty Imposed: Any person who shall engage in any business, trade or vocation for which a license, permit or certificate of registration is required by this chapter, without having a valid permit, certificate or registration as required, or who shall fail to do anything required by this chapter or by any code adopted by this chapter, or who shall otherwise violate any provision of this chapter, or who shall violate any lawful regulation or order made by any of the officers provided for in this chapter, shall be guilty of an offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as provided in section 1-9-13 of this code. Each day upon which a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense. (1986 Code § 4-70; amd. 2005 Code)
   B.   Relief In Courts: No penalty imposed by and pursuant to this chapter shall interfere with the right of the city also to the proper courts of the state for a mandamus, and injunction or other appropriate action against such person. (1986 Code § 4-71)
