In addition to all other matters prohibited by this chapter, it is unlawful for any person:
A. To permit any dog or cat to be in any public place or building where food is sold, served, or dispensed; provided, however, this restriction shall not apply to service dogs as defined in section 5-3-9 of this chapter.
B. To permit any dog or cat, possessed, kept or harbored by him, to run at large on the streets, alleys, or public places, or on private premises not under his control, within the city.
C. To permit any female dog or cat in season to run at large; and the animal control officer shall impound any such female dog or cat upon finding same.
D. To open any enclosure in which any animal is confined as required by ordinance so as to turn such animal at large, or in any manner to turn such an animal at large.
E. To break or attempt to break open an animal shelter or other place of impoundment, or take or let out any animal therefrom, or to take or attempt to take from any officer or employee of the city any animal taken into custody as provided by this chapter.
F. To own, keep, or harbor any dangerous dog or potentially dangerous dog in violation of this chapter.
G. To harbor, keep, or have possession of any vicious animal, or an animal exhibiting menacing behavior.
H. To abandon or desert any animal, or permit any animal to become a stray. (Ord. 3533, 9-4-2012)
