5-3-2: DOG LICENSE REQUIRED; FEE; VACCINATION:
   A.   License Required; Vaccination: It is unlawful for any person to keep or harbor any dog over six (6) months old within the city without having first obtained a license therefor. The license shall be issued by the city clerk upon presentation of a certificate by a licensed veterinarian stating that the dog has been vaccinated against rabies.
   B.   License Fee; Term: The fee for the license shall be ten dollars ($10.00) and the license shall be valid for the remainder of the calendar year for which it is purchased. In the event the fees herein provided for are not paid on or before January 31 of each year, the fee shall double for each dog registered. This penalty provision shall not apply to dogs registered within sixty (60) days from the date such dog is brought into the city, or within sixty (60) days from the date such dog becomes six (6) months of age.    C.   License Tag Attached To Collar: The city clerk shall issue to the licensee a metal tag. The licensee shall be required to provide each dog with a collar to which the license tag must be affixed, and shall see that the collar and tag are continually worn. (Ord. 3465, 4-20-2010)
   D.   Duplicate Tag; Fee: In case a tag is lost or destroyed, a duplicate shall be issued by the city clerk upon presentation of a receipt showing the payment of the license fee and upon payment of a five dollar ($5.00) fee for such duplicate.
   E.   Tags Nontransferable: Dog tags shall not be transferable from one dog to another.
   F.   Contents Of Application For License: At the time application is made for the license and upon forms provided for such purpose, the applicant shall show his name and address and the name, breed, color, and sex of each dog owned or kept by him.
   G.   Exceptions To Licensing Provisions: The provisions of this section shall not apply to dogs whose owners are nonresidents temporarily within the city for less than five (5) days. (Ord. 3449, 11-3-2009)
