5-1D-1: ASSAULT AND BATTERY:
   A.   Definitions: As used in this section, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection:
    ASSAULT: Any wilful and unlawful attempt or offer with force or violence to do a corporal hurt to another.
   BATTERY: Any wilful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another.
   B.   Prohibited Acts: It is unlawful to commit an assault or an assault and battery within the city, and any person committing an assault or an assault and battery within the city is guilty of an offense. (1986 Code § 14-35)
