(A) The area of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in its flood insurance study (FIS) for the city dated December 15, 1978, with accompanying flood insurance rate maps (FIRM) or digital flood insurance rate maps (DFIRM), are adopted by reference and declared a part of this chapter. The FIS and the FIRM are on file at the office of the City of Union at 342 S. Main Street, Union, Oregon, 97883.
(B) Areas of special flood hazard are depicted on FIRMs and DFIRMs as special flood hazard areas (SFHA). When the base flood elevation has not been identified, the best available information for flood hazard area as identified in § 153.53 shall be the basis for regulation.
