1432.01 PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL DEFINED.
   As used in this chapter, "private swimming pool" means any structure or container, either above or below ground, designed to hold water to a depth of greater than 24 inches at any point and having a surface area of 250 square feet or greater, intended for the immersion of the human body, whether for swimming or wading or both, by the occupants thereof and guests, as an accessory use to a residence. Further, as used in this chapter, "small private swimming pool" means any structure or container, either above or below ground, designed to hold water to a depth of greater than 24 inches at any point and having a surface area of more than 100 square feet but less than 250 square feet, intended for the immersion of the human body, whether for swimming or wading or both, by the occupants thereof and guests, as an accessory use to a residence.

1432.02 CONSTRUCTION; PERMIT REQUIRED.
   Before the erection, construction or alteration of any private swimming pool or appurtenance, an application for a permit shall be submitted to and approved by the Building Inspector. Said permit shall not be valid until all appropriate fees have been paid, provided, however, that there shall be no swimming pool permit fee for small private swimming pools. In addition, no electrical permit shall be required for small private swimming pools, provided the applicant certifies in writing that any electrical connections shall be to a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlet. All other permit applications and fees shall apply, including but not limited to a fencing permit.

1432.03 PLANS.
   The application for the permit shall be accompanied by two sets of full and complete plans. Each shall accurately show dimensions and construction of the pool and appurtenances; properly established distances to lot lines, buildings, walks, fences and gates; and details of the water supply, drainage and water disposal systems and all appurtenances pertaining to the swimming pool. Detailed plans of the structure, the vertical elevations, the type, height and location of the fence surrounding such swimming pool and the number of gates therein and sections through the pool showing depth shall be included.
