8-2-1: SIDEWALK SPECIFICATIONS AND GRADE ON MAIN STREET:
   A.   Supervision: All sidewalks constructed and laid upon either side of Main Street in the City between the south line of Blocks 47 and 48 to its intersection with the east line of Railway Avenue shall be constructed of cement or concrete material, and shall be constructed and laid under the direction and supervision of the City Engineer and according to the provisions of this Chapter, the surveys and profiles of Main Street now on file in the office of the City Clerk, and the plans and specifications prepared and adopted by the City Council.    B.   Specifications:
      1.   Sidewalks: The sidewalk on either side of Main Street shall be fourteen feet (14') in width; the curb or sidewalk grade at edge nearest the carriageway shall be four inches (4") higher than grade line of center of street; the elevations of line "A" or top of sidewalk along the property line shall be as follows at block corners; the figures used are in excess of four thousand feet (4,000'):

      2.   Gutters: The gutter shall be one and one-third feet (11/3') in depth below top of curb; that grade of Main Street shall be six inches (6") lower than line "A". (1977 Code § 12.04.020)
   C.   Grades: The grade of all sidewalks and improvements thereof made on Main Street shall conform to the grade fixed by this Section and the surveys and profiles having reference to Main Street, reported to and approved by the City Council, and on file in the office of the City Clerk.    D.   Penalty: All persons convicted of violating any of the provisions of this Section shall be subject to penalty as provided in Section 1-4-1 of this Code. (1977 Code § 12.04.040; amd. 2000 Code)
