9-2-3: VIOLATION AND PENALTY:
Any person who shall violate any provision of any said code or codes set forth in section 9-2-1 of this chapter or who shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, reconstruct, install, alter, add to, move, demolish, use, occupy, locate, or maintain any building or structure of any kind, nature, or extent whatsoever, or portion thereof, in violation of said code or codes or in violation of a detailed statement or plan submitted and approved thereunder or of a permit or certificate issued thereunder shall, upon conviction of each violation, be fined in an amount not less than two hundred dollars ($200.00) nor more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) for each offense; and a separate offense shall be deemed committed as to each violation for each and every day or portion thereof during which any provision of said code or codes is committed or continues. For purposes hereof, the owner of a building or structure, or portion thereof, or of the premises where anything in violation of any of said codes shall be placed or shall exist and an architect, engineer, builder, contractor, agent, person, firm, or corporation employed or retained in connection therewith and who assisted in the commission of such violation or violations shall also be deemed likewise guilty of such offense or offenses.
