1418.07 TIME LIMITATIONS ON ISSUED PERMITS.
Any permit issued shall become invalid unless the work authorized by it has begun within six months after its issuance. If the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned, the permit shall be valid for only one year after the time the work is commenced. However, for cause, one or more extensions of time for periods not exceeding ninety days each may be allowed in writing by the Commissioner of Buildings.
Any permit which has ceased to be effective pursuant to this section cannot be revived and it shall be necessary for a new application to be made pursuant to this Building Code and for a new permit to be issued before building or construction activities may be begun or continued. Such second or subsequent application for a building permit shall be governed by the laws and regulations in force at the time such second or subsequent application is made. For purposes of determining applicable laws and regulations, the prior application and the permit issued thereunder shall be considered null and void.
