The president and board of trustees shall employ some suitable person to act as village law enforcement official or shall enter into an agreement with the county sheriff to provide for law enforcement within the village. Such law enforcement official or person employed by the county sheriff shall, in all respects, be authorized to perform all appropriate duties provided in the ordinances of the village.
