10-2-1: ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL:
It shall be the duty of the Zoning Chairman, along with the Police Department, to enforce the provisions of all Zoning Ordinances.
   A.   In the case of any building or structure erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted, or maintained in violation of the provisions of these Zoning Regulations, the Village Attorney, in addition to any other remedies available under these Zoning Regulations, is hereby authorized to institute an action to enjoin, or any other appropriate action or proceeding to prevent or correct such erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance, or use.
   B.   In the case of any persons violating any provision of the zoning ordinances the following protocol shall be followed by the Zoning Chairman:
      1.   Building Without an Approved Building Permit. Zoning Chairman shall contact persons and inform them that they are in violation of the Village of Stronghurst Zoning Ordinance and:
         a.   Zoning Chairman shall inform violators that any and all work at the said property must cease until a building permit has been approved by the zoning committee.
         b.   Zoning Chairman shall take building permit to or inform violators that a building permit may be picked up at Stronghurst Village Hall.
         c.   If violators continue to build without the approved building permit the Zoning Chairman shall contact and turn matter over to the Village of Stronghurst Attorney.
      2.   Violating an Approved Building Permit. Zoning Chairman shall contact persons and inform them that they are in violation of the Village of Stronghurst Zoning Ordinances and inform them that if not resolved within thirty (30) days the matter will be turned over to the Village of Stronghurst Attorney.  (Ord., 3-5-1973; amd. 2006 Code; Ord. 07December2020, 12-7-2020)
