A. Vehicles crossing from one side of the street to the other shall do so by turning to left so as to head in the same direction as the traffic on that side of the street toward which the crossing is made, and when the street is congested with traffic, such vehicles shall go to the intersection before turning.
B. It shall be unlawful for any motor vehicle on Broadway Street in the village between Nichols Street and the right of way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad to enter a parking area on the side of the street in the opposite lane without first entering an intersection and making a U-turn in order to reverse the direction of said vehicle. No vehicle shall enter a parking space adjacent to the opposite lane of traffic of said vehicle. For the purposes of this subsection, entry into a parking space by a vehicle on the side of the street opposite the lane of traffic of said vehicle shall be construed as an illegal turn. No vehicle shall back into an intersection.
C. U-turns shall be permitted at the following intersections:
Main Street and Broadway Street.
Nichols Street and Broadway Street.
The right of way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad on Broadway Street. (Ord. 2010-1, 3-1-2010)
