In the event of a break in the lines of any utility rendering service to the Municipality and its citizens, and the break occurs under a paved portion of an improved street, the utility and its employees are exempted from the provisions of this chapter in making the necessary repair or replacement, in order that the utility service can be maintained.
The utility service company shall, after the repair or replacement is made, make an application for a permit, and present the same to Council, in order that a record can be kept of all openings made in the streets, alleys and public ways.
Council may, if it is deemed proper, require the bond, as set forth in Section 901.02.
