(a) A backflow preventer must be installed before a water meter will be set in all new construction and as determined by city utility employee and/or code in renovations.
(b) A water meter may not be installed if backflow prevention assembly has not been installed prior to the request for a new water meter installation. A trip charge may be charged as defined in § 51.010 for a city utility employee to return and install the water meter once adequate backflow prevention has been installed.
