The Board shall appoint a Chief of Police in accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 31-4-304 and 31-4-306 within thirty (30) days after every regular election. The Chief of Police shall be answerable to and under the control and direction of the Board of Trustees or designated member thereof consistent with the authority to enforce all Town ordinances or codes, but shall exercise independent discretion regarding all police matters.
