There is hereby created the position of village attorney. Said attorney shall be appointed by the president with the consent of the majority of the board of trustees. Said attorney is authorized and empowered to represent the village in all legal matters and to discharge such other duties as may be imposed by law, or by motion, resolution or ordinance of the board of trustees and to employ, within the scope of his authority, such legal or technical assistants necessary to discharge his duties.
