6-2-4: FUNCTIONS:
The functions of the Sherman EMA shall be to:
   A.   Prepare and keep current a disaster emergency plan for the village. (1984 Code § 2-2-5; amd. 2010 Code)
   B.   Interrelate with business, labor, industry, agriculture, civic and volunteer organizations and community leaders in the development of a plan.
   C.   Prepare and distribute to all appropriate officials in written form a clear and complete statement of the emergency responsibilities of all local departments and offices and of the disaster chain of command. (1984 Code § 2-2-5)
   D.   Cooperate with the Springfield/Sangamon County OEM, office of emergency management, state emergency management agency and other local EMA units. (1984 Code § 2-2-5; amd. 2010 Code)
   E.   Establish, train and maintain such rescue organizations as may be deemed proper by the village board of trustees.
   F.   Establish, train, and maintain such communications unit(s) as may be deemed proper by the village board of trustees.
   G.   Establish, train and maintain such weather response teams as may be deemed proper by the village board.
   H.   Establish, train and maintain such other disaster response units as may be deemed proper by the village board.
   I.   Prepare, for issuance by the village president and board of trustees, resolutions, proclamations and ordinances as necessary or appropriate in coping with disaster.
   J.   Cooperate with and liaison with the federal, state and county governments and any public or private agency or entity in achieving any purpose of this chapter and in implementing programs for disaster prevention, preparation, response and recovery.
   K.   Do all other things necessary, incidental or appropriate for the implementation of this chapter. (1984 Code § 2-2-5)
