§ 284.01 ESTABLISHMENT; MEMBERSHIP.
   (a)   There is hereby established a Fair Housing Board for the city, to consist of three residents of the city, each to serve a three-year term.
   (b)   The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to appoint, subject to a motion of ratification by Council, three members to serve on such Board for a term of three years, except for the original year of appointment, so that the terms of all members will not expire on the same date.
      (1)   The first person to be appointed shall serve for a period of three years from March 1, 1979, to February 28, 1982, and his or her replacement or successor shall serve for a three-year term after the date of termination.
      (2)   The second person appointed shall serve initially for two years from March 1, 1979, to February 28, 1981, and his or her successor or replacement shall serve for a full three years thereafter.
      (3)   The third person appointed shall serve initially for one year from March 1, 1979, to February 29, 1980, and his or her successor or replacement shall serve for three years thereafter.
   (c)   The Board shall be known as the Shelby Fair Housing Board and shall meet from time to time as may be necessary.
   (d)   The first person appointed shall serve as Chairperson of the Board.
