§ 20-6-16 VEHICLES; DRIVING; RIDING ON OR TO; RESTRICTIONS.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or ride any automobile, motorcycle, or other vehicle upon or access any sidewalk or within any sidewalk space, except at a permanent or temporary driveway; provided, this section shall not apply to vehicles (except automobiles and motorcycles) equipped with a snow-removal blade while being operated on a sidewalk for purposes of removal of snow from the sidewalk; or to vehicles being operated by firefighters of the city or other governmental entities in the performance of their functions or duties. Any vehicle permitted to be operated on a sidewalk for the purpose specified above shall, while traveling on a public street or alley to the sidewalk, travel only on that part of the street or alley dedicated to use by motor vehicles, and only by the most direct route.
