(a) There is hereby created the position of Director of Economic and Community Development for the City. The Director of Economic and Community Development shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the confirmation of Council and shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.
(b) The Director of Economic and Community Development shall perform the following duties:
(1) Develop and implement programs and strategies for the retention, expansion, and relocation of existing businesses and industry within the City, and for the attraction of new businesses.
(2) Prepare grant applications and proposals for private, county, State and Federal assistance programs in the area of economic development.
(3) Assume the duties of Funding Coordinator as the same previously existed and prepare grant proposals for private, county, State and Federal assistance programs in the area of community development including recreation and public improvements.
(4) Serve as the City staff official on the Richmond Heights Community Improvement Corporation.
(5) Cultivate private industry and foundation gifts for the Richmond Heights Community Improvement Corporation.
(6) Develop and market an income generating litter control fund.
(7) Coordinate with other officials of the City applications for gifts, grants and other funding for City projects.
(8) Oversee the development and funding by non-city revenues of a marketing brochure for the promotion of the City.
(c) The former position of Funding Coordinator of the City is hereby abolished.
(d) The Director of Economic and Community Development shall receive such salary as Council shall from time to time determine.
