6-7-5: NOTICE AND REMEDY:
   A.   Enforcement: The building inspector shall enforce those provisions of this chapter which come within their respective jurisdiction. Either may make periodic inspections and inspections in response to a complaint that an alleged violation exists. No action shall be taken under this section unless the premises, where a violation is alleged to exist, have been inspected and deemed to be in violation.
   B.   Notice Of Violation: Upon determination by the building inspector or building and zoning committee of a violation of this chapter, the village shall notify the owner and, if different from the owner, the occupant of the premises of such violation by a written notice of violation.
   C.   Contents: The notice shall specify the nature of the violation, the required correction and a reasonable time, not to exceed thirty (30) days, to correct the violation. The notice shall be served upon the person or persons named personally or by certified mail addressed, postage paid, to the last known address of such person or persons. Service by certified mail shall be deemed complete five (5) days after mailing.
   D.   Extension: The building inspector or building and zoning committee are authorized, in their discretion, to extend the time for corrections if the circumstances warrant an extension and the owner or occupant is making a good faith effort to correct the violations.
   E.   Failure To Correct: If the owner or occupant fails to make the corrections within the required time or any extensions, the village may proceed under chapter 823, Wisconsin statutes, the provisions of this chapter, or any other applicable method of enforcement.
