4-3-2: DOG OR CAT LICENSE AND RABIES VACCINATION REQUIRED:
Pursuant to section 174.052, Wisconsin statutes, all owners of dogs or cats in the village are required to have their dog or cat vaccinated against rabies and obtain licenses for such dog or cat.
Vaccination by a veterinarian against rabies is required for all dogs or cats within thirty (30) days after the dog or cat reaches four (4) months of age. There is no provision in the law for vaccination other than by a veterinarian. Older vaccinated dogs or cats must be revaccinated when the certificate expires. Certificates of current vaccination must be presented when obtaining dog or cat licenses.
Owners of all dogs or cats five (5) months of age or older on January 1 of any year or five (5) months of age, within the license year shall annually on or before the date the dog or cat becomes five (5) months of age, pay the license fee and obtain a license. (Ord., 8-2-1999)
