7-3-5: RULES AND REGULATIONS:
   A.   Motor Vehicles:
      1.   No motor vehicle shall be driven or otherwise operated at a rate of speed in excess of fifteen (15) miles per hour in any city park.
      2.   The parking of motor vehicles shall be at such places designated therefor and in accordance with regulations posted on park grounds. (1990 Code § 11-104)
   B.   Littering: It is unlawful for any person to litter the grounds or other areas within the city parks and playgrounds. Persons using picnic grounds in any city park shall clean up all papers, cans and other waste before leaving such grounds. (1990 Code § 11-105)
   C.   Fires: It is unlawful for any person to build or set any fire inside any city park or picnic grounds, except in ovens which have been provided for such purposes. (1990 Code § 11-106)
   D.   Intoxicating Beverages: It is unlawful for any person to drink any alcoholic beverage or to be intoxicated upon any city park ground. (1990 Code § 11-107)
   E.   Protection Of Wildlife: It is unlawful for any person to kill any bird or wild animal on city park property. (1990 Code § 11-108)
   F.   Tobacco:
      1.   The use of tobacco is a public nuisance, is dangerous to adults and children, and sets an unhealthy example for the city of Poteau's youth and children. Therefore, the use of tobacco in any form is hereby prohibited in all city owned parks. The use of tobacco in any form shall also be prohibited in and around all public restrooms located in city owned parks, and in and around all parking lots adjacent to city owned parks.
      2.   For purposes of this section, a "city owned park" shall be defined as any parcel of open land which is owned by the city of Poteau and used for recreational activities, including all walking and bicycle trails, ball fields, skateparks, and other fields or facilities used for sporting events.
      3.   Any person who knowingly violates this subsection F is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished in accordance with the penalty provisions of section 1-4-1 of this code. (Ord. 724, 5-7-2012)
