A. Means Of Giving Turn Signals:
1. Any stop or turn signal, when required herein, shall be given either by means of hand or arm, or by a signal lamp or lamps, or mechanical device of a type approved by the Oklahoma department of public safety, except as provided in subsection A2 of this section.
2. A vehicle shall be equipped with, and the required signal given by, signal lamps or devices when:
a. The body or cab of a vehicle or the load of any vehicle projects twenty four inches (24") or more to the left of the center of the steering wheel;
b. Under any condition where a hand and arm signal would not be visible both to the front and rear of the vehicle; or
c. The rear limit of the body of a vehicle or the load of any vehicle projects fourteen feet (14') or more beyond the center top of the steering post. (1990 Code § 15-907)
B. Method Of Giving Hand And Arm Signals: All signals herein required given by hand and arm shall be given from the left side of the vehicle in the following manner and such signals shall indicate as follows:
1. Left Turn: Hand and arm extended horizontally;
2. Right Turn: Hand and arm extended upward; and
3. Stop Or Decrease Speed: Hand and arm extended downward with palm to the rear. (1990 Code § 15-908)
