5-4E-3: ASSAULT OR BATTERY UPON POLICE, OTHER OFFICER:

It is unlawful for any person to knowingly commit any assault, battery or assault and battery upon the person of a police officer or other officer of the law while in the performance of his duties. (1990 Code § 10-603)
