25-2: RIGHT OF ENTRY FOR INSPECTION; AUTHORITY TO ORDER REPAIR OF DEFECTS:
The city or its authorized representative shall have authority to enter any premises at any reasonable hour for the purpose of inspecting any equipment that may be installed on such premises, when there is reason to believe such installation of equipment is such as to be a hazard to the water system or any portion thereof. The city shall have the authority to order the correction of any faulty installation, or to order the owner or consumer to install at his own expense, any fixture or apparatus that may be necessary to protect the water system from damage, and if necessary, may shut off the water from that connection until the service shall be made safe. 25-3: UNAUTHORIZED INTERFERENCE WITH WATER SYSTEM GENERALLY:
No person, except the public works director or designee, or someone authorized by him, shall tap the mains or pipes of the city water system, or in any way interfere with the works or service of such system, nor shall anyone without authority from the public works director, or designee, turn on or shut off water to or from any building or premises connected with such system, except by the use of a stop valve located on their own premises. No person shall without the permission of the public works director or designee enter into any building or enclosure, climb up any ladder or onto any tower or reservoir, or touch any machinery, materials, or tools, change any meter gauge or register, or molest in any way any of the property of the city water system. 25-4: RIGHT TO DISCONTINUE SERVICE FOR REPAIRS:
The city reserves the right to shut off the water at any time for the purpose of making repairs or making extensions to the system or for any other purpose and will not be responsible for any damage resulting from the same. (Ord. Code § 3554)
