§ 150.003 APPROVAL OF PLANS.
   Such applications with plans shall be referred to the Committee on Buildings who shall examine the same to determine whether the proposed construction or alteration will comply with the ordinance provisions relative thereto. Upon approval one set of plans shall be returned to the applicant with a permit, and the other shall be retained by the Building Committee. No permit shall be issued until after approval of the plans.

§ 150.004 VARIATIONS.
   It shall be unlawful to vary materially from the submitted plans and specifications unless such variations are submitted in an amended plan to the Building Committee and approved by them.

§ 150.005 ENFORCEMENT OF PROVISIONS.
   The Building Committee shall make or cause to be made such inspections as are necessary to see to the enforcement of the provisions of this chapter, and to make any tests or examination of material or methods to be used for the purpose of seeing that they comply with the provisions of this chapter.

§ 150.006 BUILDING PERMIT FEES.
   The fees for building permits shall be as follows:
   (A)   New construction.
      (1)   Single family residence: living and non-living areas   $0.17 per sq. ft.
      (2)   Multi-family residence: living and non-living areas   $0.17 per sq. ft.
      (3)   Business/Industrial/Commercial: living and non-living areas   $0.25 per sq. ft.
            Electrical: first five fixtures   $50.00
            Electrical: each additional fixture   $1.00 each
            Mechanical: first five openings   $50.00
            Mechanical: each additional opening   $1.00 each
         Minimum fee   $50.00
   (B)   Additions/remodeling.
      (1)   Residential: heated and unheated structures   $0.17 per sq. ft.
         Minimum fee   $50.00
      (2)   Business/Industrial/Commercial: living and non-living areas   $0.25 per sq. ft.
            Electrical: first five fixtures   $50.00
            Electrical: each additional fixture   $1.00 each

§ 150.007 BUILDING INSPECTOR TO DETERMINE FLOOD HAZARD.
   (A)   The Building Inspector shall review all building permit applications for new construction or substantial improvements to determine whether proposed building sites will be reasonably safe from flooding.
   (B)   If a proposed building site is in a location that is a flood hazard, any proposed new construction or substantial improvement (including prefabricated and mobile homes) must:
      (1)   Be designed (or modified) and anchored to prevent flotation, collapse, or lateral movement of the structure.
      (2)   Use construction materials and utility equipment that are resistant to flood damage.
      (3)   Use construction methods and practices that will minimize flood damage.

FIRE LIMITS
§ 150.015 BOUNDARIES.
   All that part of the city within the following described boundaries is designated to be the fire limits of the city, namely: all of blocks fourteen, fifteen, twenty, twenty-one and the east half of blocks six and seven of the original city.
