No person shall engage in or carry on the business of operating and conducting a bowling alley within the City without first securing from the Mayor a license for that purpose and paying a license fee. The license fee for the term commencing on the date of the issuance of the license and ending on December 31 of the year in which the license is issued shall be eighteen dollars and seventy-five cents ($18.75) for one alley used in any bowling alley and six dollars and twenty-five cents ($6.25) for each additional bowling alley kept in the place.
