1721.02   INSTALLATION REQUIRED.
   The owner of each new or existing single-family dwelling, two-family dwelling or multifamily dwelling shall install smoke detectors in each dwelling unit as provided in this chapter. Such smoke detectors shall be capable of sensing visible or invisible particles of combustion and providing a suitable audible alarm thereof. Smoke detectors shall be installed within thirty days of the effective date of this section (Ordinance 298-88, November 9, 1988) in the manner provided in this chapter, unless any other provision of County, State or Federal law, or this section (as previously codified from Ordinances 163-78, passed March 3, 1980, 70-80, passed April 7, 1980, and 61-82 passed June 21, 1982), requires installation before that date. No person shall fail to install smoke detectors as and where required by such date.
