In addition to such salary or compensation as may be provided for elsewhere, there shall be paid to the employees in the Division of Fire who are not furnished City-owned vehicles for use in the performance of their duties, the sum of twenty-five and one-half cents ($0.255) per mile for all mileage so traveled, when so authorized by the Mayor, the Director of Public Safety and the Chief of Fire.
The Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to pay the respective amounts as hereinbefore authorized to the aforementioned persons, and he or she shall charge such expenditures to the proper fund of the Division of Fire.
