1-7-4: PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR; POWERS AND DUTIES:
The public works director shall:
   A.   General: Be superintendent of all of the improvements upon the streets, alleys, public grounds, waterworks system and sewer system, located in the city and shall be under the direction and supervision of the mayor and city council.
   B.   Report Violations: Report all persons refusing to comply with or violating any ordinance in relation to any of the public works. He shall make all necessary repairs upon any of the public works, keep them safe and operational, and at each regular meeting of the council, if required by it, report fully regarding his acts and the condition of the public works.
   C.   Conflict Of Interest: Not be interested directly or indirectly in any contract or job of work or material, or the profits therefrom, or services to be performed for the city.
   D.   Other Powers And Duties: Have such other powers and perform such other duties as may be provided by the council, the ordinances of the city or the laws of the state, and shall transmit to his successor in office all books, papers, records, documents and property, together with an invoice of the same, in his custody and appertaining to his office.
