7-2-3: PERMIT REQUIRED; INSURANCE:
   A.   Application For Permit: No person except the city or a person hired by the city shall treat, trim, remove or otherwise disturb any tree or shrub on any street or other public property without first filing an application and procuring a permit from the city clerk. (Ord. 39, 11-10-1970)
   B.   Liability Insurance:
      1.   Certificate Of Insurance: Prior to the issuance of a permit, and before any tree work of any sort can be done, the applicant must deposit with the city clerk a certificate of liability insurance in the amount of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00) for personal injuries and one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) aggregate for property damage and injuries liability. The insurance policy shall also name the city as an additional insured in all liability insurance. (Ord. 39, 11-10-1970; amd. 2015 Code)
      2.   Waiver Of Insurance Requirement: In event the applicant is able to furnish proof of financial responsibility approved by the city and enters into an agreement for indemnification of the city in the event of any damage caused by applicants obtaining a permit to do tree work, the insurance requirement may be waived.
   C.   Permit Issuance; Council Approval: All permits will be issued by the city clerk, with approval of the city council. (Ord. 39, 11-10-1970)
