541.06 DAMAGE TO TREES.
   (a)   No person shall, in any public area of the City, break, injure, mutilate, kill or destroy any tree or shrub; permit any animal under his control to do so, permit any fire to injure any portion of any tree or shrub, permit any toxic chemical to seep, drain or be emptied on or about any tree.
   (b)   In addition to any penalty provided, whoever violates this section is liable in treble damages for the injury caused.

   (c)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

541.07 DESECRATION.
   (a)   No person, without privilege to do so, shall purposely deface, damage, pollute or otherwise physically mistreat any of the following:
      (1)   The flag of the United States or of this State;
      (2)   Any public monument;
      (3)   Any historical or commemorative marker, or any structure, Indian mound or earthwork, cemetery, thing or site of great historical or archeological interest;
      (4)   A work of art or museum piece;
      (5)   Any other object of reverence or sacred devotion.
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of desecration, a misdemeanor of the second degree.
   (c)   As used in this section, “cemetery” means any place of burial and includes burial sites that contain American Indian burial objects placed with or containing American Indian human remains.

541.08 ETHNIC INTIMIDATION.
   (a)   No person shall violate Ohio R.C. 2903.21, 2903.22, 2909.06, 2909.07 or 2917.21(A)(3) to (5) or Sections 537.05, 537.06, 537.10(a)(3) to (5), 541.03 or 541.04 of the General Offenses Code by reason of the race, color, religion or national origin of another person or group of persons.
 
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of ethnic intimidation. Ethnic intimidation is an offense of the next higher degree than the offense the commission of which is a necessary element of ethnic intimidation.

541.09 DAMAGING GOLF GREENS.
   (a)   No person shall break, pass over, through or under the barricade placed around the permanent greens on any of the Municipal golf courses to protect the same after the regular playing season.
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree.

541.10 DRIVING VEHICLES OVER GOLF COURSE.
   (a)   Except for purposes of maintenance only and except for the operation of motorized and pull golf carts no person shall drive or operate, or cause to be driven or operated any motor vehicle of any type, including but not limited to automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, mini-bikes and ski mobiles, or any bicycle, wagon or any other type of wheeled vehicle, or ride horseback on, over or across the fairways of a Municipal golf course, or operate or cause to be operated any of the above described vehicles, including sleighs, sleds and winter vehicles of any type on, over or across the greens of any Municipal golf course.
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree.

541.11 INJURING FIRE APPARATUS, POLICE ALARM.
   (a)   No person shall willfully damage in any manner any hose, fire engine or any other fire apparatus belonging to the City, or willfully damage or maliciously obstruct or interfere in any manner, with the use of any police alarm box in the City.
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

541.12 PASSING WITHIN FIRE LINES.
   (a)   When, in case of fire, the Division of Fire has established fire lines, no person, except a member of the Police or Fire Division, shall pass within fire lines unless authorized to do so by a police officer or the Mayor or Chief of Police.
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

541.13 INTERFERING WITH WIRES.
   (a)   No person, except the duly authorized agents or officers of the City, shall destroy, cut or remove or in any way alter or interfere with any fire alarm or telegraph wires belonging to the City.
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
