3-4-2: DEFINITIONS:
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section unless the context clearly requires another meaning:
NURSING OR CONVALESCENT HOME: Any home, establishment or institution offering or providing chronic and convalescent care for three (3) or more persons not related to the operator, who are unable to care for themselves by reason of advanced age, physical infirmity, prolonged illness or defect, or recovery from injury, illness or disease and including any or all procedures commonly employed in caring for the sick, such as administration of medicines, preparation of diets, giving bedside care and carrying out treatment prescribed by duly licensed practitioners of the healing arts.
RELATED INSTITUTION: Means and includes any home, establishment or institution offering or providing planned continued care, personal services or chronic or convalescent care for three (3) or more persons not related to the operator, but whose services are restricted to the care of certain age groups, a specific type of infirmity, illness or disease, either chronic or convalescent. Nothing herein contained shall authorize any person in any manner to practice the healing arts or the practice of medicine as defined by law.
REST HOME: Any home, establishment or institution offering or providing planned continued care for three (3) or more aged or incapacitated persons not related to the operator. (Ord. 01-01-2002, 1-24-2002)
