A. Penalty Imposed: Except as otherwise provided by state law, whenever in this code or in any ordinance of the city an act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or whenever in the code or ordinance the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful, where no specific penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any provision of this code or of any ordinance, upon conviction, shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00), including court costs. Provided, that conviction for violation of this code or of any ordinance or any offense relating to speeding or parking shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars ($200.00), including court costs. Provided further, that no fine, including court costs, may be imposed upon a conviction for a violation of this code or of any ordinance which is greater than that established by Oklahoma statute for the same offense. Court costs may be charged and collected, but shall not exceed twenty five dollars ($25.00) plus the fees and mileage of jurors and witnesses. Specific penalties for the violations of this code and any ordinance may be set by resolution of the city council and said penalty reflected in the said resolution of the city council under this subsection shall control over any specific penalties contained in this code or by any other ordinance which contradict or conflict with the said resolution. B. Aiding Or Abetting Violation: Any person who shall aid, abet or assist in the violation of any provision of this code or any other ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided in this section. (1985 Code § 1-108)
