9-1B-4: SIDEWALK APPROACHES, REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Construction Requirements: It shall be the duty of the owner or occupant of any premises or lot to construct good and sufficient approaches to the sidewalk where the same is necessarily crossed in gaining access to such premises or lot. All such construction shall be in accordance with Sections 6-1G-1 through 6-1G-3 of this Code.
   B.   Grade and Surface: No driveway, whether maintained for commercial or private use, shall be so constructed or graded as to leave a step, sharp depression or other obstruction, in the sidewalk. The grade shall be as near as possible to that of the adjoining sidewalk. It shall be unlawful to have the surface finish of any driveway where the same crosses the sidewalk constructed of such materials as to render it slippery and hazardous for pedestrians, or to have the grade of the sidewalk other than level.
   C.   Materials: Driveways across sidewalks shall be constructed in accordance with the specifications contained in Sections 6-1G-1 through 6-1G-3 of this Code.
   D.   Duty to Maintain: It shall be the duty of every person maintaining a driveway to keep the same in good repair where it crosses the sidewalk, and free from obstruction and openings. (1951 Code 6-2-3, 6-2-4, 6-2-5, 17-3-5; Ord. 94-10-44)
