6-2-4: AMENDMENTS TO REGULATIONS:
The rules and regulations of the 2018 Edition of the Chicago Electrical Code, based on the 2017 National Electrical Code, (the “Chicago Electrical Code”) as adopted in subsection 6-2-3A of this chapter is amended by the following changes and/or additions thereto:
   Chapter 27 Electrical Regulations, Article 100. Definitions, Part A. General.
   Recessed Incandescent Fixture. A lamp housing assembly located within a ceiling, wall or floor space.
   Section 13-12-290. Qualifications.
   For the purposes of registering as an electrical contractor and/or qualifying as a supervising electrician in the village of Oak Lawn, compliance with the testing requirements set forth in chapter 13-12, article II, part C, section 13-12-290 of the municipal code of Chicago shall be done by way of taking and passing the tests offered by the city of Chicago in regard to registering as an electrical contractor and/or qualifying as a supervising electrician. As such, the tests given by the city of Chicago in regard to registering as an electrical contractor and/or qualifying as a supervising electrician are hereby adopted as the tests of the village of Oak Lawn and such tests shall be given on such dates as determined by the city of Chicago department of inspectional services.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of electrical contractor, as herein defined, without being registered as an electrical contractor in the manner hereinafter set forth; provided, however, that if such person is already registered for the current year in any one of the following municipalities:
   City of Chicago
   City of Waukegan
   Village of Orland Park
   Village of Libertyville
   Village of Lansing
   City of Elgin
   City of Naperville
   Village of Schaumburg
   City of Ottawa
   City of Woodstock
   Village of Buffalo Grove
   Such electrical contractor shall not be required to be registered or to pay a registration fee in the village.
   Notwithstanding the foregoing, pursuant to the village's home rule powers as provided by article VII, section 6 of the 1970 Illinois constitution, such electrical contractor shall be required to file a copy of his/her registration certificate with the village's quality control department and pay an administrative fee of twenty-five and no/100 dollars ($25.00) relative to said filing. The purpose of said administrative filing is to allow the village's quality control department to create and maintain a list of properly registered licensed electricians so as to facilitate the efficient processing of electrical permit requests.
   Chapter 27, Article 220, Section 18-27-220.3(c)(1). Dwelling Units.
   Loads for structural additions to an existing dwelling unit or to a previously unwired portion of an existing dwelling unit, either of which exceeds two hundred (200) square feet in area, shall be computed in accordance with paragraph (b) of this section. Loads for new circuits or extended circuits in previously wired dwelling units shall be computed in accordance with either (a) or (b) of section 18-27-220.3.
