For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHIEF OF POLICE. The executive head of the Police Department of the city or his or her designated representative.
TOWING LIST. A list maintained by the Police Department containing the names of vehicle towing services licensed by the city and approved pursuant to §§ 112.61 through 112.69 to respond to a request for the towing of a vehicle made by the Department. A vehicle towing service on the list must be within ten miles of the corporate boundaries of the city.
VEHICLE TOWING SERVICE. A person engaged in the business of, or offering the services of, a vehicle wrecker or towing service, whereby motor vehicles are or may be towed or otherwise moved from one place to another by use of a motor vehicle adapted to and designed for that purpose.
