1454.23 CONSTRUCTION OF GROUND SIGNS.
   (a)   Except as required in Section 1454.22(b), and as required in Section 1454.40 for electric signs, the face of ground signs shall be made of sheet metal, wood sheathing, porcelain or other strong and durable material.
   (b)   Ground signs shall be constructed and braced as required in Section 1454.04. When ground sign supports and braces of wood construction extend into the ground, such supports and braces shall be sufficiently imbedded and anchored in the ground or in concrete to resist the stresses transmitted by such members to the ground. Supports and braces of steel construction shall be imbedded in concrete sufficiently to resist the stresses transmitted by such members to the ground.
   (c)   The part of wood posts and braces which enters the ground, plus six inches, shall be treated by an approved method with an approved wood preservative.
