1454.40 CONSTRUCTION OF ELECTRICAL SIGNS.
Except as provided elsewhere in this Building and Housing Code, every electrical sign hereafter erected, re-erected, placed, hung or in any manner displayed shall be constructed, wired and equipped in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 1432, and the electrical sign shall bear the label of Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc., for an inspected electrical sign. However, an electrical sign which does not bear the label required herein, but which has been heretofore lawfully erected, hung or displayed in the City, and which is constructed and displayed as authorized by a previous building permit, may be removed and re-erected, provided the sign is not altered in size or design and otherwise substantially complies with all other applicable requirements of this Building and Housing Code for electrical signs and is approved by the City Electrical Inspector before re-erection.
