§ 6-16 DAMAGING PUBLIC PROPERTY.
   It is unlawful for any person to willfully or wantonly remove, deface, alter, destroy, injure or damage personal or real property owned by, leased to or otherwise under the custody and control of the town. The offender shall also be subject to a civil debt of $500 per day in addition to other penalties. No such civil penalty shall be assessed until the person alleged to be in violation has been notified of the violation. Each day of the continuing violation shall constitute a separate violation.
