1450.03 COMMITTEE ON DESIGN AND PRESERVATION: ESTABLISHMENT AND COMPOSITION.
   There is hereby established a Committee on Design and Preservation which shall consist of five members appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. Initial appointments shall be staggered terms with one member appointed for a term of one year, two members appointed for a term of two years, and two members appointed for a term of three years. Thereafter, members will be appointed for terms of three years.
   (a)   Membership on the Committee on Design and Preservation shall include, to the extent possible, professionals in the disciplines of architecture, history, architectural history, planning, archaeology, commercial development, or related disciplines, as well as such other persons who have demonstrated a special interest, experience, or knowledge of historic preservation and who possess a determination to work for the overall improvement of the quality of the physical environment of the City.
   (b)   Vacancies shall be filled within sixty days for the remainder of any unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment.
   (c)   The Mayor shall designate an Advisor/Liaison between the City and the Committee on Design and Preservation who shall be an employee of the City of Newark, preferably of the Department of Development.
