210.05 CLERK OF COUNCIL.
   (a)   Establishment of Position. There is hereby established the position of Clerk of Council, such position to be filled by election according to law. The duties of such position are those established by statute and ordinance of the City, and such duties as may be prescribed by Council.

   (b)   Oath. Before entering upon the duties of his office, the Clerk shall take an oath to support the Constitutions of the United States and of the State and to faithfully, honestly and impartially discharge the duties of his office.

   (c)   General Duties. The Clerk of Council shall attend all regular and special meetings of Council, have custody of the laws and ordinances, keep a regular and complete journal of the proceedings of Council, record all ordinances and perform such other duties as may be required by Council or by law.

   (d)   Duties as to Cedar Hill Cemetery Fund. The Clerk of Council shall receive from the Director of Public Service all payments made to him for the cemetery endowment fund of Cedar Hill Cemetery and shall issue receipts therefor and deposit such funds as are received by him, pending investments, with the City Treasurer. He shall receive and deposit such funds for and on behalf of Council, invest such funds in accordance with the direction and authority of Council and keep the securities in which such funds may be invested.
