8.20.010: FINDINGS:
   A.   Section 26-38-6 of the Utah Code allows the City to restrict smoking in outdoor places of public access which are owned or operated by the City.
   B.   Tobacco smoke is a form of air pollution and is a danger to the health, safety and welfare of the public.
   C.   The City Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public in:
      1.   Their use of City parks, cemeteries and recreational areas at any time; and
      2.   Other City owned property at and during City sponsored events subject to certain exceptions. (Ord. 17-25)
8.20.020: PURPOSE:
   A.   The purpose of this chapter is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public by prohibiting smoking in:
      1.   City parks, cemeteries and recreational areas at any time; and
      2.   Other City owned property at and during City sponsored events subject to certain exceptions. (Ord. 17-25)
8.20.030: DEFINITIONS:

CITY PARKS, CEMETERIES AND RECREATIONAL AREAS: City owned ball diamonds, parks (including any streets and sidewalks therein), pocket parks, soccer fields, linear parks/trails, bleachers and spectator areas, picnic pavilions and shelters, outdoor swimming pools, outdoor ice rinks, outdoor amphitheaters, the City cemetery and playgrounds.
SMOKING:
   A.   The possession of any lighted or heated tobacco product in any form;
   B.   Inhaling, exhaling, burning, or heating a substance containing tobacco or nicotine intended for inhalation through a cigar, cigarette, pipe, hookah or similar device;
   C.   Using an e-cigarette; or
   D.   Using an oral smoking device intended to circumvent the prohibition of smoking in this chapter. (Ord. 17-25)
